Prof. Theresa Obuobisa-Darko, Dean of Business School

Prof. Theresa Obuobisa-Darko is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and the Head of the Department of Management Studies at the Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) Business School. Prof. Obuobisa-Darko holds a PhD in Public Administration and Policy Management, an MPhil in Public Administration, and an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Ghana. She also holds a Master’s degree in Organisational Development and a Bachelor of Education (Home Economics) from the University of Cape Coast.

She has over 30 years of teaching experience across basic, secondary, and tertiary education levels, with a strong focus on Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, Leadership, and Public Administration. She has also taught at Methodist University College Ghana at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contributing significantly to the development of business and management education.

Prof. Obuobisa-Darko has extensive experience in academic leadership and administration, currently serving as Head of Department at GCTU. Her work in academia has been complemented by her dedication to mentoring students and contributing to institutional development through teaching, research, and service.

Her research interests include leadership, employee engagement, and organisational performance, with particular emphasis on how leadership behaviours influence employee productivity in both public and private sector organisations. She has contributed to scholarly work in these areas, producing research on employee performance, engagement, and leadership effectiveness.

In addition to her academic and research roles, she has participated in several seminars, workshops, and academic programmes aimed at enhancing teaching, learning, and professional development within the university community.

Prof. Theresa Obuobisa-Darko has also been recognised for her contributions to academia and service, receiving the Best Lecturer – Service award at the GCTU Staff Durbar in 2025.

Beyond teaching and research, she continues to contribute to the growth and development of the university and the broader academic community through leadership, mentorship, and institutional service.
